Find out More about Wearing your own CGM
Have you ever wondered what your glucose is doing during an ordinary day?A continuous glucose monitor, or CGM, is a small sensor worn on the arm that measures glucose in the fluid between your cells. It gives you a picture of how your glucose responds to food, movement, stress, alcohol, and daily life. You do not need to have diabetes to learn something useful from wearing a CGM. Many people wear one for a short period simply to understand their own patterns better. Some people prefer to explore their CGM on their own. Others feel more confident with a bit of support.

My course, What’s My Glucose?, is designed to help you understand what you are seeing on your CGM.You can do the course in your own time and come back to the lessons while you are wearing your CGM.Remember a CGM only lasts for about 14 days, but you can learn a lot about yourself during that time.CGMs are available in South Africa without a prescription if you are buying one yourself. There are many CGMs available. I have personally used FreeStyle Libre, and more recently LinX, which is currently slightly cheaper in South Africa. FreeStyle Libre 2 is listed as a 14 day sensor, while LinX is listed as a 15 day sensor.
You can choose what suits you best:Option 1: Do the Udemy course only.
Learn in your own time and use the course to guide you while wearing your CGM.Option 2: Get support during your 2 weeks
I can support you while you wear your CGM, helping you notice patterns and understand what may be affecting your glucose during everyday life.Option 3: Book a CGM review or medical discussion
After wearing your CGM, you can book an appointment to go through your results with me. We can discuss what your glucose patterns may mean, what lifestyle changes may help, whether further blood tests are needed, and whether medication may be appropriate for you.
A CGM is a learning tool. It does not diagnose diabetes on its own, and it should not replace proper medical assessment when needed. But it can give you powerful insight into your own body and help you make more informed, practical choices.
